SassyScoops

ever since sensei, muse and i started selling r jewelry, i have become kind of obsessed with buying handmade, local stuff for the holidays, eating at non-chain (except for five guys, of course) restaurants run by people in my community and staying away where possible from big-time business stuff (like delta--who i am certain was trying to ruin my life on sunday).

there's something about becoming an artisan that makes you want to support others. i like the hometown feel to buying handmade and eating at local places.

recently, i was contacted by vanessa who asked me if she could be an r house sponsor with one of her endeavors.

SassyScoops does just what i was talking about.

SassyScoops: the local scoop on tempting treats and fabulous finds.

basically what the Sassies do is find great local stuff and write about it (and by write, i mean photos and video too) making it easy for people like you and me who are looking for great local stuff, but don't really have the time (or energy!) to look into it.

my current fave spot on their food section. but, at the r house, we are foodies ...so that isn't too shocking.

and after seeing the video, i am dying to check out blend fashions. shall we schedule an afternoon shopping extravaganza? uhm, yes.

i am totally interested in having r little shop be scooped. how fun would that be?

they do that! and have had other businesses ask to be scooped. they schedule a time for a visit and give an honest review to their readers. then each company gets a week long feature on their site. the feature includes a preview, review, follow-up and oftentimes ...a giveaway or promotion.

pretty sweet.

*SassyScoops is a paid sponsor. while the Sassies paid for their advertising spot, the review is compensation free. i just think it's a good idea to shop local and encourage others to do the same.
